A woman died at Jaleshwor of Mahottari district after security personnel opened fire at the protestors on Friday. Another woman known as Shail Devi has sustained bullet injuries in her leg.

The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Raj Shila Devi of Hattilet in the district. She sustained bullet in her forehead, said Dr Rajiv Jha involved in her treatment.

Police opened fire at Shankarchok after the cadres of Symukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha staged demonstration defying the curfew order.
