UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon has called for dialogue between opposing sides in Nepal on the issue of Constitution drafting. He also welcomed a temporary pause in the Constitution voting process, AFP quoted Ban's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric as saying.
"He stresses the importance of dialogue and non-violence as well as respect for peaceful protest and freedom of assembly," Dujarric told reporters in New York.
"The Secretary-General welcomes the decision of the political parties to temporarily pause the Constitution voting process. He urges all stakeholders to use this opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue," he said.
