NC lawmakers Amresh Kumar Singh, Surendra Chaudhary, Teju Lal Chaudhary, Ram Ayodhya Prasad Yadav and Dinesh Prasad Prasaila had refused to participate in the CA process in protest of the proposed state demarcation in the new federal set-up.
The lawmakers had boycotted the voting on the revised Bill of Constitution on Sunday. They later joined in the CA process at the request of the party leadership after the major parties agreed to accommodate some of their key demands in the new constitution.
The top leaders had agreed to adopt proportional inclusiveness in the new constitution and revisit the electoral constituencies on the basis of the population. But one district will have at least one representation in Parliament or House of Representatives.
The five disgruntled CA members were summoned by former PM Sher Bahadur Deuba and discussed their demands at the CA hall. “We returned to the CA process after senior leader Deuba assured us that out key demands will be fulfilled,” said Tejulal Chaudhary.
