Fundraiser art exhibition at NAC
An art exhibition, titled First group Exhibition MFA-2069, is currently being hosted at Nepal Art Council (NAC), Babarmahal.An art exhibition, titled First group Exhibition MFA-2069, is currently being hosted at Nepal Art Council (NAC), Babarmahal.
The exhibition features the artworks—paintings and sculptures—created by the students who graduated in the year 2069 BS from the Central Department of Fine Arts, Tribhuvan University. The artifacts on display are dynamic and they deal with a number of subjects ranging from basic human sensibilities to issues of climate change.
The 100 artworks up on display at the exhibition have been created by 32 different artists: Ajay Desar, Amitkumar Das, Anisha Maharjan, Balkrishna Vanmala, Bikas Shakya, Dipak Thami, Dipendra Phunyal, Deepmala maharjan, Eurika Bajhracharya, Gauravratna Tuladhar, and Hemratna Shakya among others.
“The artworks on display attempt to weave the current scene of Nepali art and aesthetics. The exhibition is significant for its portrayal of the current landscape of fine arts in Nepal,” said artist Mohan Siwakoti, whose artwork is also featured in the exhibition. The price of the artworks range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 200,000;
25 percent of the fund thus collected will be contributed to the quake victims in the country.
The exhibition will continue till September 17.
