Pro-Hindu group clashes with police

The Pariwar supporters, who have been in protest demanding reinstatement of Nepal as Hindu state, tried to stormed into the prohibited zone as the news filtered through that the amendment proposal submitted by the pro-Hindu Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal to declare Nepal as a Hindu nation by scrapping secularism as mentioned in the revised draft had been rejected by a majority.
Police used water canon to disperse the crowd from the area. Around 13 protesters are reported to have sustained injuries in the clash. The protesters had vandalised a vehicle belonging to the United Nations.
