Protest against proposed state boundaries claims 36 lives

Nepal Police Spokesperson Kamal Singh Bam said ten members of security agencies, including a high-ranking Nepal Police official, have been killed in the violent protests. Twenty-four protestors and two civilians ( including a two-year-old child) have been killed in anti-demarcation protests in the Terai Madhes, mid-western districts and Karnali region

Kailali, Mahottari and Parsa have the highest number of protest casualties. Nine people, including a Senior Superintendent of Police and a child, died in Kailali. In Mahottari, five protestprs and one security personnel has been killed.
The number of casualties due to the protests is high in Tarai regions while a lower number of deaths have been reported in Hilly region.
