Police fired gunshots to disperse the agitated mob that set fire to the residence of CPN-UML lawmaker Kamaladevi Mahato at Malangwa, the district headquarters of Sarlahi district, on Monday.
One Bikram Raya, son of former minister and Forum Loktantrik’s senior leader Rameshwor Raya, has been seriously injured after sustaining a bullet in his neck.
Cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha burnt copies of new constitution in the area and set fire to the lawmaker’s house.
A petrol bomb was hurled at the lawmaker’s house last week as well.
The cadres are posing obstruction to fire engine and security personnel to put out the fire.
SLMM leader and lawmaker Jungilal Raya said the incident occurred after their programme to burn the constitution completed in a peaceful manner and they had already returned home.
