Nabil, ICFC begin with double win, KMG lose

Nabil defeated Indian Embassy by three wickets and Prabhu Bank by 28 runs, while ICFC overcame Jyoti Bikash Bank by six wickets and Kantipur Media Group (KMG) by five wickets. In Nabil’s opener, Indian Embassy made 64-3 from five overs with Pankaj Singh smashing 31 not out off 11 with three sixes and two fours. Nabil replied with 66-3 in 4.2 overs on a back of six-ball 22 from Amit Pokhrel who clubbed two sixes and as many boundaries.
Pokhrel was once again the star for Nabil hammering 11-ball 35 not out with four maximum and two hits to the fence lifting his team to 69-1 against Prabhu Bank.
Prabhu could only muster 41-3 with Sudip Deo making 12-ball 16. ICFC folded Jyoti Bikash for 50-3 before replying with 52-0 in 2.2 overs. Sanjog Sharma hammered 24 not out off eight with three sixes and a boundary.
KMG were stopped at 44-1 and ICFC reached the target in just 2.1 overs. Arbind Rana made 16 off nine, while Arun Raut top scored for KMG with a 21-ball 22 that included three hits to the fence. Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) returned with mixed results losing to Century by four wickets in their first game before crushing Sanima Bank by 40 runs.
BoK rode on an eight-ball 32 not out from Rabin Shahi to make 73-1. Shahi hit four sixes and a four, while Bikrant Gadwal also chipped in 27 not out off 15. Suraj Timalisna replied with a nine-ball 31 not out including four sixes and a four as Century reached 74-2 in 4.1 overs. In their second match, Shahi (33), Nirajan Bajgain (29) and Sabin Giri (26) contributed in double figures in their unbeaten innings guiding BoK to 98-0.
Giri then picked up two wickets as Sanima were reduced to 54-4 where Nitesh Pokhrel chipped in 19 not out from seven balls. In other matches of the day,
Nepal Telecom, Sipradi Trading, Gorkha Brewery and NIC Asia Bank registered victories.
