Nepali delegation meets UN, US, Swedish officials
Special Assistant to the President of United States and Senior Director for South Asian Affairs, Peter R Lavoy, held a meeting with Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man SinghSpecial Assistant to the President of United States and Senior Director for South Asian Affairs, Peter R Lavoy, held a meeting with Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh and the Nepalese delegation to the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday. The two sides discussed various matters of mutual interest, Nepal’s Permanent Mission to UN in New York said.
Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey also held a meeting with UN Under-secretary General for Political Affairs Jeffrey D Feltman where they discussed matters including the conclusion of peace process in Nepal with the promulgation of the new constitution.
Similarly, Nisha Desai Biswal, assistant secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs of the United States Department of State, paid a courtesy call on minister Pandey, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest. Minister Pandey also held a bilateral meeting with Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström. During the meeting, the two reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed the possibility of further cooperation at international forums.
