UN Chief welcomes dialogues with agitating parties
The UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, during his Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh on Saturday, welcomed the decisions to create the conditions for dialogueThe UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, during his Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh on Saturday, welcomed the decisions made by the Council of Ministers on October 1 to create the conditions for dialogue. He has urged all parties to respond to the calls for dialogue and to resolve their differences in a peaceful and flexible manner.
The Secretary-General also expressed concern on the obstruction of essential supplies on the Nepal-India border and the difficulties resulting from it.
The duo had met to hold discussions on Nepal’s efforts to rebuild the country, Nepal’s progress on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the need to engage on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Secretary-General thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for Nepal’s important contribution to UN peacekeeping.
