Speaking at a programme organised by Reporters Club here in the Capital, leader Poudel said that the major parties had reach a gentleman's agreement to elect Oli as Prime Minister, and to elect President from Nepali Congress and Speaker from UCPN (Maoist).
He said the parties were doing homework towards that end as well. Leader Poudel stressed on a vibrant and effective coordination among the parties for the implementation of the new constitution and new construction projects as the nation had suffered a huge destruction due to the devastating earthquake.
The UML leader added that the current blockade at Nepal-India border cannot lasts longer as the right to transit is a major right of landlocked countries.
In a different context, leader Poudel clarified that his party is clear on its position to resolve the ongoing protests in Tarai as the party has opined for maintaining constituencies on the basis of population and territory and for ensuring inclusive and proportional representation.
On the other hand, he clarified that the person receiving the citizenship under the 'naturalised citizenship provision' could not be established in Nepali politics for the welfare of nation and people.
Leader Poudel urged the agitating parties to resolve the Tarai issues through talks. He added that the incumbent government can't complete the constitution amending process.
