The leaders have agreed to meet again on Friday to hold further discussions on the Madhes issues.
The government delegation asked for one more day citing its inability to hold consultations with the top leaders from three major parties. “They [members of government talks team] have asked for one more day,” said Morcha leader Ram Naresh Rai said, “We have agree to meet again on Friday.” He said that the meeting did not even take up any political agenda officially.
However, the talks team held informal discussions on issues such as state border demarcation, proportional inclusive representation, delineation of electoral constituencies based on population, and citizenship provision.
The government talks team reportedly put forth a proposal for moving ahead through political consensus based on the report tabled by federal commission.
Saying that the talks have already started, the government requested the Morcha to end the obstructions at borders. But Morcha turned down the request arguing that they have long waited for their demands to be heard and they have continuing their strike out of compulsion.
