Govt to seek international support to ease current situation

The cabinet meeting held on Friday has also decided to form Import Management Committee under the coordination of Commerce Minister Sunil Bahadur Thapa, to ease the import of petroleum products from India. The committee has been given the responsibility to hold talks with India to end the current embargo and import fuel from other countries.
Likewise, the meeting has also decided to form a committee under the coordination of National Planning Commission vice chairman to resolve the energy crisis.
Meanwhile, the cabinet rejected the Home Ministry’s proposal to grant extra holidays during Dashain festival. The Home Ministry had proposed a lengthy holiday from Ghatasthapana, the beginning of Dashain, to Kojagrat Purnima.
