In the parliamentary meeting, Speaker Subas Nembang gave instruction for necessary arrangement on holding election.
As per the schedule, the candidates running for the executive post will have to register their candidacy at the parliament building in New Baneshwor from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday. The candidates are required to sign a proposal supported by a proposer and a supporter and an application tantamount to an oath in which the candidate must commit to certain protocol and agreement if elected the PM.
The Secretariat will publish the final list of candidates at 4:30 pm after the applications are registered, said Parliament Secretariat's Assistant Spokesperson Sudarshan Kuinkel.
The parliament will begin the voting process once the candidates' supporters and proposers express their views at the meeting set to begin at the parliament at 11 am on Sunday.
The parliament proceeded with the voting process to elect the new PM through majority after a week given by President Dr Ram Baran Yadav for nomination of the premier on basis of consensus expired on Thursday.
As per the practice undertaken during the transitional phase which is stipulated in Nepal Constitution's Article 298, the parliament must nominate a new PM within seven days from announcement summoning the parliamentary meeting.
If consensus among the concerned political parties cannot be reached within the stipulated seven days, the parliament will have to proceed with voting process.
Meanwhile, Article 297 stipulates framework for the nomination of a new President and Vice President within a month from the date of the commencement of the parliamentary session.
