The Heads of Mission from the United States, European countries and the European Union based in Kathmandu inquired about the current standoff on the Nepal-India border and the ways the government is managing the supplies of essentials including fuel. In a meeting with Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey on Thursday, they also wanted to know how the political process was moving ahead, particularly constitution amendment and dialogue with the agitating Madhes-based parties and Tharu groups. Pandey apprised the diplomats on the ongoing scarcity of essential commodities including foodstuff, medicines and petroleum products, seeking help from the EU and the US in this difficult situation, according to officials at the ministry.
