Various government officials, including Additional Inspector General of Police Bigyan Raj Sharma, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief Executive Rudra Singh Tamang, Federal Affairs and Local Development Ministry Secretary Madhav Prasad Regmi and former Chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudyal, participated in the programme. “We have been mobilising our teams for the campaign and will continue it,” KMC chief Tamang said. He, however, said the
public participation was comparatively less this time due to fuel crisis.
Over 200 people, including officials from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, joined the clean-up drive. Vehicles belonging to Nepal Police, KMC and some
participants ferried the volunteers to their houses after the sanitation campaign.
The campaign was initiated on May 18, 2013.
