At a news conference held on Tuesday in the Capital, Chairman of the Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party Mahantha Thakur rued that the government has not called the Front's talks team for talks even after a week of its forming.
A meeting of the Front held today has decided to give continuity to its ongoing agitation programmes.
Leader Thakur said they 'understand' the people's wish that the shutdown organized by the Front is somewhat relaxed for the approaching festivals and the Front is holding internal discussions to that end.
Chairman of the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal, Upendra Yadav, said their agitation would continue unless the rights and interests of the Madhesi, Tharu and oppressed communities were guaranteed.
He was of the view that taking part in the election of the Prime Minister held in the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday should not be construed as acceptance of the new constitution.
"We took part in the prime ministerial election as a way of integrating the struggle from the streets and the parliament and in deference to the Supreme Court's decision that the lawmakers should not abstain or stay neutral in the election of the prime minister," he explained.
The Front has also concluded that the situation has become further complicated with the ruling side not taking seriously the agitation which it has been continuing in the Terai-Madhes since the last 59 days.
