Kathmandu
The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in support of the American Institute of Architects Foundation and All Hands Volunteers, along with Nepali partners, will help to build 540 earthquake resilient homes in Sindhupalchok district.
Sindhupalchok was one of the worst hit districts in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the country in April this year. Almost 90 percent of the building structures were damaged. The Initiative would work with local partners namely Society of Nepalese Architects and ARCASIA to construct buildings that are earthquake resistant incorporating traditional techniques to the displaced families in around 10 to 12 villages by 2017 under Fast Track Reconstruction of Safe Nepalese Communities.
