Koirala, Oli urge each other to support their respective party's candidate for prez election

At a tea reception hosted by Nepali Congress on the occasion of Kojagrat Purnima at Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu on Monday, PM Oli urged the NC leadership to support his party candidate Bidya Bhandari for the post of president.
“We will urge Sushil Koirala to support our presidential candidate in order to take ahead the political consensus,” Oli, flanked by Koirala, told the media persons.
Likewise, Koirala also said there have been discussions to move ahead through consensus and urged the CPN-UML to lend support to his party candidate for the post of president. He said the NC will finalise the candidate for the president’s post by Tuesday.
Party President Sushil Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretaries Prakashman Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula welcomed the guests to the reception.
On the occasion, Koirala said that mutual understanding, cooperation and unity among political parties were needed to implement the new constitution, a significant achievement of the Nepali people. He was of the view of seeking a way out to the existing problems in the country, wishing peace, prosperity and happiness of the entire Nepali people at home and abroad on the occasion of this festival.
The NC has been giving continuity to the tradition of organising the reception on the Kojagrat Poornima of Dashain initiated by party founding party leader BP Koirala since 2035 BS.
