A meeting between the government and the agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morhca ended inconclusively on Thursday.

The Morcha put forth its demand to federate Tarai into two states at the beginning of the meeting held at Foreign Ministry today. Both the sides agreed to sit for dialogues again on November 1 after today’s meeting could not find headway.

Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa, who is also the coordinator of the government talks team, said the government had done its homework over the Morcha’s demands. But as the issue of demarcation came up, the meeting has been called again on November 1 for necessary preparations.

The government talks panel reiterated its previous proposal to settle the state demarcation through Federal Commission. The Morcha talks panel refused the proposal.
