7 Nepalis slapped with sedition charge in India

Indian police had raided Satlok Ashram run by Rampal and arrested a total of 935 people on November 19, 2014. The Nepali nationals are believed to have been arrested during the raid. Upon completion of the investigation, nearly 200 have been charged with the sedition.
“Among those arrested, seven Nepalis have been established as Indians and cases are filed against them,” said an official from Delhi-based Nepali embassy.
Of the 24 Nepalis arrested during the raid, 17 were relieved of jail sentence after depositing the bail of IRs 100,000. The Indian district court had denied bail to seven other Nepalis.
The Indian authority has mentioned the arrested Nepalis as ‘Indian’ in the charge-sheet, it is learnt.
