Chief of the Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu, Senior Superintendent of Police Bikram Singh Thapa, addressing a press conference the Range organised today, said arrangements have been made for market monitoring by forming a monitoring team under the chairmanship of the Assistant Chief District Officer of the Kathmandu District.
SSP Thapa said the monitoring team has been formed in coordination with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. The team comprises representatives of the Department of Commerce, Nepal Police, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Consumers Forum.
He said the Range has devised a strategy to guarantee the confidence of security among the general public by putting in place an unmistaken, reliable, credible and strong security system in the Kathmandu Valley taking into mind festivals as Tihar, Chhath and other festivals.
Thapa said police in plainclothes have been mobilised at different entry points to the capital to prevent the entry of fireworks.
