Ruling parties ready to address state delineation politically; Madhes-based parties positive for talks

Committee member and CPN (United) leader Ganesh Shah, who was present at the meeting of ruling parties at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today, said that the government will be flexible and discuss wide range of alternatives to address the Madhes demands.
For this, High Level Political Committee’s coordinator and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, government’s talks team coordinator and Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa, and one representative from CPN-UML will hold informal discussions with the agitating Madhes-centric parties.
The meeting also decided to move ahead with the Bill on constitution amendment registered at Legislature-Parliament by Sushil Koirala’s government.
During the meeting leader Dahal briefed about his meeting with prominent Madhesi leaders who have been sitting at the forefront of Madhes agitation. According to Dahal, Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur, Sadbhawana Party Co-Chairman Laxman Lal Karna are in favour of resolving the current political crisis through talks. However, Sadbhawana Party’s Chairman Rajendra Mahato is not very flexible, sources informed.
