Civil society reps meet political leadership to open blockade

Civil society representatives in Kathmandu have started meeting political leaders to pressurises them to resolve current crisis facing Nepal triggered by India’s ‘undeclared’ blockade and to address the ongoing Tarai agitations through talks and address their genuine demands.
As a part of their programme, the civil society representatives met UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Saturday morning. Likewise, they will also meet government, protesting parties and international community to take initiatives to resolve the current crisis.
Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai is also supporting this move of civil society, it has been learnt.
