Dialogue underway between NC and agitating parties

Nepali Congress is holding talks with the agitating Madhes-based political parties in order to address the Madhes protest.

The dialogue taking place at NC Parliamentarian Party Office at Singha Durbar in the Capital on Saturday is expected to be fruitful in terms of addressing the demands of protest.

NC acting president Ram Chandra Poudel, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, general secretary Prakash Man Singh, central member Mahesh Acharya and whip Ishwori Neupane are part of the meeting from NC side.

Likewise, those attending the meeting from the agitating Madhes-centric political parties are Mahendra Yadav, Chairman of Tarai-Madhes Sadbhawana Party, Upendra Yadav, Chairman of Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum, Nepal and leader Ashok Kumar Rai, Mahantha Thakur, Chairman of Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party and leader Hridayesh Tripathi and Laxman Lal Karna, Co-chair of Sadbhawana Party.

The NC has been reiterating that the proposal submitted to the Parliament earlier by former NC-led government to amend the new constitution expecting to end protest in the Tarai.
