It's not that much of a surprise, it was widely predicted, but Adele's new album is doing quite well (understatement.)It's broken the record for first week album sales in the US, selling 2.4 million copies since Friday.
The record was previously held by boy band *NSYNC and their second album, No Strings Attached, from 2000.Adele's first single from the album was knocked off the top spot in the UK but Hello is still number one in the US.
We haven't got UK album figures yet but it's set to be the fastest-selling album ever in the US.Official Charts Company statistics show it's sold more than half-a-million copies within its first three days.
Be Here Now, Oasis's third album, from back in 1997 is the one to beat that sold 696,000 copies in its first week.
