The Ministry took such decision after the employees did not return to the original locations even after their three-month deputation has already come to end.
The decision is expected to place more than 1,000 employees on deputation back to their designated locations.
Minister for General Administration Rekha Sharma said the decision has been taken after the employees on deputation, who were expected to resume their original offices from November 17, did not return.
“The trend of not returning to original offices even after the completion of deputation period affects the services. Therefore we took such decision,” Minister Sharma said.
Many employees under Ministry of Education, Local Development, Agriculture, Land Reforms, among others, are in deputation.
Section 18 of ‘The Civil Service Act, 2049 (1993)’ enshrines a provision where permission from the General Administration Ministry is compulsory before deputing any government employees.
The Ministry also instructed all its subordinate offices to not transfer the employees against the Act and also to send the details of vacancies, if any, to the Ministry.
