DPM Gachhadar and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, along with senior officials from the Department of Roads and the National Planning Commission, surveyed the condition of the road a day after the parliamentary Development Committee’s briefing that cargo trucks can pass along the route connecting Kerung in the Chinese autonomous region of Tibet.
After the tour, Gachhadar said the government would upgrade the Rasuwagadhi road in a fast-track model. He also instructed officials from the Department of Roads to repair facility at the earliest.
Finance Minister Poudel said the government would release adequate funds to upgrade the road. Stating that the government was preparing to assign the task to the Army, Director General of the Department Madhav Kumar Karki said the works would be over within two years. (PR)
