Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Bhim Rawal inaugurated a women army-friendly building at Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre of Nepal Army at Panchkhal in Kavre on Friday.
The centre provides pre-deployment training to army officials who are selected for peacekeeping missions abroad.
Issuing a press statement, the Army Headquarters said the women-friendly building was necessary due to the increasing number of female representation both in Army and peacekeeping missions.
Addressing the inaugural session, DPM Rawal termed the centre as one of the best training stations in South Asia and lauded Nepal Army’s role in maintaining peace and order in various war-hit countries.
