Chota Lal Thakur, 26, of Ahabi-8 Bara, was arrested from a Sundhara-based guest house along two pistols including a Chinese pistol and seven round bullets.
Thakur sustained bullet injuries in his leg when police fired in retaliation after the former produced weapon during police raid, according to police.
According to Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Thakur was rushed to Bir Hospital and is undergoing treatment.
Thakur had taken along with him a Self-Loading Rifle and a pistol while deserting his service.
In his statement to the police, Thakur claimed that he has already sold the SLR gun to Sunil Jaiswal, a leader of Tarai outfit and former APF constable. Jaiswal was arrested by police two years back and is doing his time in jail.
"Thakur was also involved in numerous abduction and extortion in Nepal and India," said Senior Superintendent of Police Sarbendra Khanal, chief of Crime Division.
Police said Thakur is also linked with a murder in Motihari, India while he was active in smuggling weapons to and forth from Nepal and Indian border.
Along with Thakur, Raj Kumar Patel, 36 of Rautahat has also been arrested. Police said they are still looking for Patel's involvement in any sort of crimes.
