Kantipur journalist Krishna Acharya has been honoured with the Sejon Award presented by the Society of Economic Journalists, Nepal (Sejon) annually.
A jury consisting of former Sejon presidents led by founder president Prateek Pradhan selected Acharya’s news story about Ncell’s commercial goods being imported with Red Cross stickers right after the April 25 earthquake as the best economic report of the year.
Likewise, television journalist Nawaraj Chalise of News 24 received the award in the electronic media category. Chalise won the award for his news story entitled “Where the 600 kg of gold went”.
Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel and Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Chiranjeevi Nepal handed over a cheque for Rs50,000 to each of the award winners.
