Pvt schools demand NOC supply fuel in evening time
The private schools and colleges have asked Nepal Oil Corporation to supply fuel in the evening or on Saturday saying the present schedule has created problem in their operation. The private schools and colleges have asked Nepal Oil Corporation to supply fuel in the evening or on Saturday saying the present schedule has created problem in their operation. Starting last week, the NOC has been providing fuel to the academic institutions twice a week on Monday and Friday.
The provision to distribute fuel on the working days has compelled the school and college buses to queue up for fuel cutting their time to pick up the students. The vehicles belonging to academic institutions have been getting 30 litres of fuel at one time. The operators say some of the colleges and schools have been compelled to shut the schools for two days and arrange additional classes to compensate that.
Karna Bahadur Shahi Steering Committee chair of Association of Private Educational Institutions of Nepal (Apein), an umbrella body of private schools and colleges, said the schools and colleges have increased the working hours on remaining days or even Saturday to adjust the classes. "It would give us great relief if the supply was arranged on Saturday or in the evening for educational institutions," said Shahi.
