Three-month action plan approved for reconstruction

The meeting of a 97-member council was headed by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
According to the action plan, the first phase of National Reconstruction Mega-Campaign will be initiated from January 16, 2015 on National Earthquake Safety Day.
In the first phase, the government aims to form District Coordination Committee and Secretariat and mobilise required human resources and required budget in all offices.
As part of the second phase of action plan, the reconstruction related policy, regulations and guidelines will be implemented and seven sub-regional offices along with one reconstruction unit will be formed in quake affected districts.
Housing and demographic survey and initiation of construction of houses is planned to be completed by April 24, calling an end to the third phase.
Likewise, in the fourth phase, the reconstruction authority will survey quake damaged houses and populace affected by the damage as per the action plan revealed earlier today.
