A meeting of top leaders and chief whips of major political parties have decided to postpone the constitution amendment process citing the parties needed more time to forge consensus with the agitating Madhes-centric parties.
The meeting held at Parliament building in New Baneshwor decided to hold talks with Madhes-based parties till January 21.
A clause-wise discussion will be held on constitution amendment proposal on January 21. On January 23, a final draft of constitution amendment proposal will be tabled for voting.
The House meeting, called for 1:00 pm today with an objective of holding clause-wise discussion over the same Bill, is yet to begin as of this hour.
