Minister for General Administration Rekha Sharma has told the government employees to stop violating the Civil Service Act.Minister for General Administration Rekha Sharma has told the government employees to stop violating the Civil Service Act.
Civil servants, including the retirees, should stop taking dual services and respect the spirit of deputation, she said on Tuesday while
unveiling the list of achievements of her ministry in the last 100 days.
“There is a high and growing tendency among the civil servants of deputation not returning back to their original work station. This should stop immediately, or else the civil service sector will go down,” she said.
Sharma said her ministry was working towards managing the high ratio of deputation and she was willing to go to any length to fix the issue.
“If someone knocks the court’s door for seeking dual facilities and to stay long for deputation, we will go to the court,” she declared.
The minister for general administration also shared the ministry’s plan, including a 39-point concept paper, aiming to expedite the implementation of the provisions incorporated in the incumbent government’s immediate reform action plan.
Tankamani Sharma, secretary at the ministry, said Minister Sharma had visited various districts to collect public feedback, suggestions for the amendment of Civil Service Act, and increment of participation and access of female employees in the government agencies.
He informed that the ministry was doing its homework to make management of staffers and organisational structure to suit the federal set up.
