The event held a discussion on ways to solve issues concerning heart diseases.
The event saw the presence of Miss Nepal 2015 Evana Manandhar, Jayanti Memorial Trust Chairperson Singha Bahadur Basnet, vice-chairperson Srijana Rana, President of Zonta Club Pramila Rijal, Dr Bhagwan Koirala, and Dr Rita Singh, among others.
During the programme, Miss Nepal Evana Manandhar launched a heart-shaped coat pin, which the organisers regard as a symbol of togetherness to fight against cardiovascular disease in Nepal. Speaking during the event, Manandhar expressed her gratitude to be associated with the event and stated the importance of being healthy to remain happy. She also urged the youths to not take up smoking as a fashion.
Speaking during the event, Srijana Rana briefed the works of Jayanti Memorial Trust and stated that the ensemble has been organising free health camps, medical educational programmes for doctors and nurses, and various awareness programmes. “The sole purpose of the Trust is to raise awareness among the public about cardiovascular issues and help the underprivileged by providing sponsorships for the treatment,” she said.
Moreover, Pramila Rijal, president of the Zonta Club, explained that the Club collaborated with Jayanti Memorial Trust in order work together to achieve their shared goals—to raise awareness and raise funds.
