CIAA files corruption lawsuit against former APF officials
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a lawsuit of corruption against seven former officials of Armed Police Force (APF) including Inspector General Basudev Oli at the Special Court.The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a lawsuit of corruption against seven former officials of Armed Police Force (APF) including Inspector General Basudev Oli at the Special Court.
The lawsuit was filed on Friday. He has been indicted of embezzling Rs 101.45 million through forgery ( producing fake bills) while importing goods for APF battalions, units and companies, according to CIAA Spokesperson Krishnahari Puskar.
Similarly, former Deputy Superintendent of APF Mahendra Bahadur Karki and Inspector Bin Bahadur Thapa have been accused of embezzling the amount equal to Oli.
Other former APF officials facing the CIAA charge are former Inspectors Manuhira Mahat (Rs 2.81 million), Shiba Bahadur Adhikari (Rs 703,000), former Sub Inspectors Devendra Kumar Shrestha (Rs 506,000) and Lekh Bahadur Khatri (Rs 4.5 million).
The CIAA demanded action as per the Prevention of Corruption Act- 2002 against the accused. Earlier, the CIAA moved to the Special Court against former APF Chiefs Koshraj Onta and Shailendra Kumar Shrestha on the corruption charge.
