A massive fire engulfed a paper carton warehouse belonging to Bharat Adhikary at Kalopul in Teku, Kathmandu, on Saturday morning. The fire is under control now.

The fire has destroyed the godown completely along with two vehicles that were parked in the premises. However, there no human casualty has been reported.

Metropolitan Police Range ASP Sushil Yadav said the blaze has caused a loss of property worth Rs 10-15 million. “Maruti car Ba 13 Cha 6504 and Tata Mobile Ba 6 Cha 1544 were engulfed by the fire,” he said, “Bundling machine has also been gutted in the fire.”

Sanepa Metropolitan Police Department Police Inspector Hari Oli said that fire brigade from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur took the fire under control.

According to Oli, the reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained. “The workers went to sleep at 4 am and the fire broke out at 6,” he said.
