Thousands gather to create the ‘Largest Human Buddha’
The guests of the event Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya also expressed their gratitude and thanked the team “for coming up with such a nice concept of bringing youth together to form something that every Nepali is proud ofThousands of Kathmanduties gathered at Tundhikhel, on Saturday, to create the Largest Human Buddha. The event—themed Uniting for World Peace—was organised by Cheer up Nepal, an NGO working towards the welfare of women and children.
The event saw the presence of a number of personalities from the Nepali cultural sphere such as Haribansa Acharya, Madan Krishna Shrestha, and also dignitaries such as Biraj Bista, Federal Affairs and Local Development Minister, among others. The event also the participation of students from various colleges in the Valley. The students carried coloured placards to form the sketch of Gautam Buddha.
Speaking to the Post, vice-president of Cheerup Nepal, Ritham Karki, said: “We have been working on it for over five months and it is great to finally see it become a reality.”

In a similar event, last August, more than 35,000 Nepalis came together at the same venue to create the Guinness World Record-breaking Largest Human Flag—with the slogan Breaking Records to Unite Hearts.
