A small aircraft, carrying 23 people onboard including crew members, with a call sign 9NAHH that took off for Jomsom from Pokhara on Wednesday morning was later found crashed in Tirkhedhunga of Dana VDC.
According to a press statement issued by PM’s press coordinator Chetan Adhikari, PM condoled the death of Nepali and foreign people on board the ill-fated aircraft and expressed his deep sympathy with the bereaved family.
PM Oli rang Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Pokhare as soon as he learned about the incident and directed him to make arrangement for bringing back the bodies of deceased passengers and hand over them to their relatives at the earliest.
The prime minister has urged all three security bodies—Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force—and concerned stakeholders to be involved in rescue operation.
In the statement, PM Oli has expressed his commitment to form a high-level probe panel to look into the incident and make public the truth.
