Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha to move ahead together by resolving problems facing the country through dialogue and consensus.

He also said that it was need of the hour to give full shape to the High Level Political Committee. “Contentious issues can be resolved on the basis of urgency,” he said, addressing a programme on ‘Nepal-India relations: New dimension and responsibility’ organised by International Concerns Center in the Capital on Sunday.

“I urge the Morcha leaders to not create problems, but seek solution to them by stepping back from their rigidness,” he said.

Claiming that the constitution has not discriminated against Tarai people, he said that the constitution could be amended with time as per need.

Saying that his recent official visit to India was fruitful as it has helped wipe out misunderstandings between Nepal and India, he said that, “Now the relations between both the countries will move ahead through a new perspective on the basis of new norms and values.”

He also said that it was beyond imagination to even think of anything bad against neighbours, stressing on the need for Nepal to get economic benefit from both neighbouring India and China. “We want to establish balanced relations between both neighbouring countries,” he said.

CPN-UML Secretary Pradip Kumar Gyawali said the India visit has helped wipe the recent misunderstandings between the two countries, and build an atmosphere of trust.

President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) Pashupati Murarka said the PM's visit was successful from the economic point of view, and created favourable atmosphere to enhance Indian investment in Nepal.
