Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar, among others, landed in the Capital on Wednesday afternoon. Upon arrival, he headed straight to Maharajgunj to pay tribute to former prime minister and president of Nepali Congress late Sushil Koirala.
Nitish also paid separate courtesy calls to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister K P Oli and discussed matters related to mutual concern.
The chief minister of Bihar then met UCPN(Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal where he inquired about the agitation of a few Madhes-based parties and implementation of the new constitution. In the meeting, Dahal told Nitish that implementation of the new constitution has already begun and majority of demands forwarded by the Madhes-based parties have been met.
Nitish also discussed the recurrent floods in Bihar caused by rivers originating from Nepal and sought joint cooperation to tame it, according to Dahal’s aide.
Hasanul Haq Inu, minister for Information and Communication of Bangladesh, has also arrived here in Kathmandu to take part in the general convention.
According to the Foreign Department of the Nepali Congress, several other delegates from India and other countries will be attending the conclave.
