Nepal's Foreign Secretary, Shanker Das Bairagi, and the SCO General Secretary signed the understanding in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Earlier, PM Oli attended an interaction on Nepal – China relations organised by Renmin University in Beijing during which he reiterated Nepal's steadfast commitment to 'One China Policy'.
He echoed preceding Nepali governments' commitment to not allow the Nepali territory to be used in anti-Chinese activities and insisted Nepal-China relations continued to strengthen on basis of the Panchasheela.
PM Oli further said China's respectful behavior and support for Nepal's development will remain unforgettable. Nepal – China relations is hundreds of years old and it is broad and friendly, the PM emphasized, adding that China's 'one belt one road' policy will broaden it further which will remain important for Nepal's development.
Later in the day, PM Oli will hold interaction with the representatives of the Nepali and Chinese business fraternity, and attend an interaction programme with Chinese journalists to be hosted by Nepali Embassy based in Beijing, read a statement issued by PM's Press Coordinator, Pramod Dahal.
