PM Oli stresses on broader cooperation among Asian nations for shared benefits

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stressed on the need of creating a broader cooperation model among the Asian nations that will enable free flow of ideas and create a win-win situation for all the nations with integrated and shared benefits in the region. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of 15th BOAO forum of Asia on Thursday, Oli pressed on the shared growth of Asian countries.
“Asia is emerging as the power house of global economy and the world is closely watching Asian countries. However, the vicious circle of poverty continues to exist in the region,” Oli said, identifying poverty as a challenge to be dealt by a number of Asian nations, “Responsibility lies on us to approve a vision to rise above these challenges.” Oli added that the pursuit of common destiny will be of no use if anyone in the region (Asia) is left behind.
Stating that Nepal recently promulgated a new constitution, in line with the aspiration of the people, Oli thanked the Asian nations for supporting the landmark endeavor of Nepal. “I thank all the Asian nations for supporting a landmark endeavor,” Oli said.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, addressing the inaugural ceremony stressed on the need of enhancing regional cooperation among Asian countries and creating a community of shared future for ASIA.
“Asian countries must have confidence and work together in solidarity. We will overcome difficulties and embrace a brighter future. We should maintain peace and stability and treat each others as equals,” premier Li said, addressing the inaugural ceremony. Stating that the Asian countries last year witnessed an economic growth of 6.5 percent, Li said countries within the region should work on innovation and dynamism.
The 15th edition of BOAO Forum with a theme "Asia's New Future: Identifying New Growth Drivers" has brought in over 2,000 participants to discuss a wide range of issues. Established in 2001, the BOAO Forum for Asia is a forum committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals.
