Flights resume at TIA, four planes diverted due to dust storm
The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) resumed flights on Monday after a half-an-hour disruption due to a strong dust storm. According to TIA Spokesperson Bhola Guragain, two Kathmandu bound flights of Yeti Airlines and Buddha Airlines from Chandragadi, Jhapa, were diverted to Biratnagar airport and another plane that took off from TIA for Pokhara returned back to Kathmandu.
Likewise, a Kathmandu-bound Air Arabia flight from Abu Dhabi and another flight from Delhi were diverted to Lakhanu airport. These planes were held in the sky above Simara for about half an hour due to the dust storm.
A massive dust storm swept through the Capital for about 45 minutes, throwing the normal life out of gear.
