Theatre unveiled in Jhorahaat

The opening was held to coincide with the new calendar year with the theatre being unveiled by authors Abhi Subedi and Manju Nagarkoti, actors Harihar Sharma and Sunil Pokhrel, academic Ramesh Ranjan and Bruce Pardel.
The inauguration saw the staging of play Pahuna Ghar ki Sahuni, produced by Shilpee Theatre Kathmandu and several local poets reciting verses. Speaking at the event, Subedi highlighted that the establishment of a theatre in Jhorahaat was a great accomplishment in itself. He also reiterated that the onus was now with the local theatre-enthusiasts to bring the theatre to life.
President of the theatre, Bharat Guragain, who briefed the Post at the inauguration, thanked supporters and donors who had made the theatre possible. The theatre has been built through donations and grants worth Rs 2,200,000.
