Sanghiya Gathabandhan, an alliance of Madhesi parties and Janajati forces, has finally decided to postpone Kathmandu-centric protest and continue their struggle in the districts.

The alliance, from its two-day meeting in Kathmandu, concluded that they will focus on regional protest till mid-May.

Earlier on Sunday, the Gathabandhan had released a 26-point letter announcing that it began Kathmandu-centric protest to push government to address to its demands.

The meeting held at Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal office in Kathmandu on Wednesday was attended by various leaders affiliated to the Gathabandhan. However, TMLP Chairman Mahanta Thakur and Sadbhawana’s Rajendra Mahato were absent.

A source privy to the development told the Post that their decision will be publicly announced on Thursday.
