Ghalegaun residents launch homestay to root out caste-based discrimination (in photos)

But, residents of Ghalegaun village, also known as 'SAARC village' and a popular tourist destination, have adopted a noble idea to root out the practice from the village.
They have launched a homestay service in a Dalit settlement in the village, which is expected to create awareness among people and help eliminate caste-based discrimination.
Inaugurating the homestay facility amid a programme in the village today, lawmaker Jamindra Man Ghale said that all kinds of discriminations including caste-based one are deemed punishable as stated in the new constitution and that all people are equal in the eyes of the state.
He also praised the efforts of local people to help eliminate caste-based discriminations from the village through the facility while urging the locals to continue stick to such practices in the days to come.
The facility started at the houses of local residents Chhabi Lal BK and Umal Bahadur BK in the first phase. The village houses the total 25 households. RSS
