IMS named distributor for Ssangyong Motors
Following the success of Samsung mobiles, the IMS Group has ventured into the automobile sector by acquiring the authorised distributorship for Korean auto maker Ssangyong Motors. Ssangyong Motors is the fourth largest automobile manufacturer in South Korea and has a slew of models in its line-up ranging from luxury cars and SUVs to pickup trucks, vans and buses.
IMS Motors has entered the field by rolling out five models of luxury cars and SUVs. They are the Tivoli, Korando, Rexton, Kryon and Actyon. According to the company, each car has
exclusive features reflecting recent innovations and technological advancements in the automobile sector.
Priced at Rs5,375,000, the Tivoli features a body frame made ultra high strength steel and a large boot capacity. Likewise, the Korando has dual automatic air conditioning, active all wheel drive (AWD) with lock mode and is priced at Rs7,525,000.
The Rexton has seating for seven, premium leather interior, three driver seat memory settings and HID headlamps. Rexton has been priced at Rs9,975,000. Similarly, the Actyon Sports
features a luxurious interior
with sporty design and durable bed liners and is priced at Rs5,500,000 while the Kryon has dual front air bags and reinforced ultra rigid steel frame as safety enhancements.
“The IMS Group has formed IMS Motors to cater to the developing market for automobiles in Nepal in line with the rise in disposable income and changing lifestyles,” the company said in a statement. “This is a positive initiative of the company to offer luxury cars and SUVs of high quality at a comparatively lower price,” said Deepak Malhotra, chairman of the group. “We will consolidate our presence in the market and expand our services at various locations in the future.”
According to Dikesh Malhotra, president of the company, IMS has started a new chapter in the auto industry by making demand based offerings in the automobile sector.
“Our target is to provide customers with the latest innovations in the segment incorporating superior quality and style,” Malhotra said. “Ssangyong is a world renowned brand which has bagged many awards and has partnered with Mercedes to develop superior engine technologies.”
The company has also launched a scratch coupon offer under which the first 14 customers will get a chance to win a Bajaj Pulsar NS200, Samsung S7 Edge, 40-inch Samsung TV and washing machine.
IMS presently maintains two service centres, Auto Home and Auto Village, at Jwagal, Lalitpur and Ratopul, Kathmandu respectively.
