Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the post-earthquake reconstruction and rehabilitation works would be completed within five years. Addressing Legislature-Parliament session on Thursday, PM Oli presented the five-year road map.

The estimated cost for this task stands at Rs838 billion, according to PM Oli. Earlier, the reconstruction cost was estimated at Rs663 billion. PM said the cost increment was decided after a detailed study.

Of the total allocation, Rs 645 billion will be spent for individual homes, while Rs 106 billion for production, Rs 61 billion for promotional expense and Rs 26 billion for shared activities. 

A framework has been prepared to conduct the reconstruction in 20 different categories.
